Driver and vehicle licensing authority. This is where you apply for your driving licence. They are responsible for keeping records of every driver and every vehicle on the roads in the UK today. Any changes of circumstances should be reported the DVLA.

Driving Standards Agency. They have the responsibility for setting standards and conducting theory and practical driving tests. They are also responsible for the statutory regulation of driving instructors and trainers.

QEF Mobility Services offers expert assessment, advice, information and tuition to allow people with disabilities of all ages to achieve independent mobility as drivers, passengers, scooter and wheelchair users. The centre also trains approved driving instructors and professionals to teach disabled people and the elderly to drive. Over the years QEF has developed its services, often ahead of the times, but always in line with the changing needs of disabled people.

QEF also provides the training needed to certify driving instructors in the teaching of disabled drivers.

The Motability Scheme enables disabled people to exchange either their Higher Rate Mobility Component of Disability Living Allowance or their War Pensioners' Mobility Supplement to obtain a new car, powered wheelchair or scooter, and to obtain possible assistance with financing for driving lessons and training with adaptions.

pass plus

Pass Plus

Click here The Pass Plus scheme is aimed at newly qualified drivers to help them develop better driving skills. Your ADI will help you complete the six training modules to pass the training course. Pass Plus consists of six modules about driving in different conditions, these are: in town, in all weathers, on rural roads, at night, on dual carriageways, and on motorways. All subjects must be completed successfully and no further test is required. Sometimes upon receipt of certificate to say you successfully completed this course it can reduce your insurance premium so for more detailed information, please refer to the link above.
